A Nantan Meteorite from a rare meteorite impact that occurred in May of 1516 in Guangxi, China. This meteorite fall was described as falling stars resembling winding dragons and snakes. They have a coarse octahedral structure. A fragment of a large iron-nickel asteroid core that melted and re-formed. In 1958 local farmers collected them when China was in need of steel for the growing economy. These meteorites make wonderful gifts for anyone interested in space and geology. A truly remarkable piece that fell from the heavens almost 500 years ago.
